Love in Los Angeles: A Film Photography Engagement Session

Los Angeles, with its iconic landmarks and beautiful scenery, provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable engagement session. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a couple’s engagement using film, capturing their love and joy against some of LA’s most stunning locations. I experienced different film stocks, including Cinestill 800t, Kodak Gold 200, Portra 800, and Kodak motion picture film 5207.

We began our session with the Hollywood sign as the backdrop, a symbol of dreams and aspirations. The couple’s excitement and love were evident in every shot, we had so much fun in the park. The rich tones of film photography beautifully highlighted their connection and the grandeur of the Hollywood Hills.

Next, we headed to South Palm Drive, where the couple posed with their car and the towering palm trees in the background. The classic LA scenery added a chic and laid-back vibe to the session.

As the day transitioned to evening, we made our way to Playa Del Rey near LAX. The soft, ethereal light of the blue hour provided a magical setting for more intimate and romantic shots. The couple’s affectionate moments were beautifully captured, with the tranquil beach adding a serene and dreamy quality to the photos.

We concluded our session at Santa Monica Beach, where the couple had a blast during the photo shoot. The playful energy and stunning sunset created a perfect ending to their engagement session. The vibrant colors and dynamic atmosphere were perfectly preserved on film, reflecting the couple’s joy and love.
